SELECTING CANVAS TYPE

Qphoto offers two types of canvas, Luxury and Lite. Luxury Canvas is pure cotton and is the type of canvas use by artists, museums and art galleries. It’s beautiful. Canvas Lite is kinder to the budget because it has a polyester mix in the cotton weave. Quality is our obsession which is what the ‘Q” in our name stands for, so rest assured that both options are excellent choices.

Because unlike other printers, Qphoto has invested in Epson 11 Ink Technology, our superior canvas prints have a wider colour gamut and electric colour effects that can not be achieved with the cheaper 4 ink technology that is widely used in the industry. We use UltraChrome HD pigment inks which deliver high-quality Pantone-®certified colour.

At Qphoto we do it the traditional artist’s way, we stretch our canvas on a non-warp frame for a classical easel canvas that transforms your image into an artwork. Cheaper imitations wrap the canvas around a board which is not quite the same thing as an artist’s canvas. In addition we go the extra mile and tape the back of the canvas edges for a beautiful gallery quality product. Our canvases are stretched onto a 4,5 cm frame and you can select your complimentary edge finish as white, black or image wrap.

SIZE SELECTION

Qphoto offers a wide range of sizes and formats. As a general rule you should measure the area you want to fill, (A x B) and multiply the length and height of this space by 0.7. This will give you a guideline for the height and length dimensions for a single picture for the space or the size of the footprint to fill with multiple items arranged together, (A0.7 x B0.7).

Carve out a visual space where you want to hang your picture. For example, let’s say you want to hang art above a dominant piece of furniture to create a focal point for a room. Create a balanced look by filling about 60 - 75% of the empty space above the furniture with your art piece or arrangement.

CARE GUIDE

It is best to avoid walls that get direct sunlight for long periods of time as the print can fade. However at Qphoto we spray our canvas prints with a complimentary anti-fade coating with UV protection that locks in the colour and keeps the print colours vibrant. This anti-fade coating also allows for dust protection and the print can be gently wiped with a slightly damp, soft cloth to remove the dust and ensure that your canvas print lasts.
